Our Story

The Heart Behind Nora’s Light

Nora, our daughter, was born at 21 weeks after an unexpected second-trimester complication that led to preterm labor. I share this gently in case another mother is searching for someone who understands.

In April 2025, Jeremy and I found out we were expecting our first baby. We were team green and loved sharing our excitement with family and friends. We told everyone at 13 weeks, thinking we were in the clear. All our doctor visits were normal.

In August 2025, at 21 weeks, everything changed when Nora was born sleeping. We learned she was a girl when she was placed in our arms. She is named after her great-grandmothers, Eleanor and Norma. Our hearts were forever changed by the most instant and pure love, and they broke as we held her, knowing she wasn’t coming back. When she left, she took a little piece of each of us with her—one she will have forever. Though her time with us was brief, her life is forever a part of ours. It’s Jeremy, Nora, and me—our family—woven into this story.

The love was instant. The heartbreak was profound. Nora’s Light grew from that love.

What began as a way to honor her has grown into a space for mothers walking through pregnancy, postpartum, or loss. Every baby is honored here. Every parent is seen. Every story is held with care.

Nora’s Light started as our way of carrying her memory forward, but it has since become a community for every parent who has experienced stillbirth, miscarriage, or infant loss. It is not a typical space—it is a place to honor every baby, give grief a voice, and remind parents they are not alone.
